OUR COUNSELLORS

When asking a camper what their favourite memories of camp are, quite often the response has something to do with their counsellors. Whether it’s the crazy skit they did, or the campfire stories they told… That’s why we place a lot of importance on accepting high-quality individuals. People who will go out of their way to make campers feel at ease and comfortable. We also seek enthusiastic and energetic counsellors in order to provide the skills, games, and activities that campers will remember.

OUR DIRECTORS

Jared & Dana Folkerts

Jared and Dana have many years of camp experience at GLBC. Dana grew up attending and then serving in many different roles, and first introduced Jared to camp in the summer of 2006, when they came to direct for the very first time. They also directed in the summers of 2007 and 2009, and have returned to serve as counsellors and as speaker (Dana) for several recent summers. They were very excited to have the opportunity to direct again in 2022, and can’t wait to see familiar faces in 2023!

Jared and Dana both love kids, and are parents to 6 of them! They keep busy during the year chauffeuring them to sports and other activities, and volunteering at their church, McDiarmid Drive Alliance in Brandon.
